About Ritchie Bryant

Ritchie Bryant, CDI, MA (name sign “RB” on side of chin) has devoted his career to the study of sign language, culture, and interpreting. A native Texan, Ritchie was born Deaf into a hearing family in the Dallas area. He earned his bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language from Gallaudet University and his master’s degree in deaf education from Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College. He has taught at Gallaudet University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Pennsylvania Schools for the Deaf, and numerous community colleges.

Ritchie is a renowned workshop presenter, interpreter and ASL evaluator, and storyteller. He was a co-author and founder of an online sign language curriculum. He was a content creator for Gesture THAT!: Visual/Gestural Communication e-Workbook and has had his work appear in various publications. He also has served on a number of advisory and national boards, including the Deafhood Foundation, Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Deaf Advisory Board, and the RID national board.

A full-time staff interpreter at Gallaudet University, Ritchie is the CEO/founder of FCBU Media, LLC. He makes his home in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
